5mm vs 16mm Large Screens
The 5mm large screen is a flexible cladding panel designed to be screwed or adhered flat to an existing fence, wall or timber batten frame. It's the most popular choice for homeowners who already have a fence and want to transform it quickly and affordably. The 16mm large screen is a rigid structural panel that works with our aluminium post system — fully freestanding with no existing fence or wall required. Three 16mm screens with posts creates a complete, standalone garden feature.
How Many Do I Need?
For a standard 1.83m (6ft) fence panel run: one large screen covers one fence panel. For a 6-metre fence run, you'll need six large screens. Our screen and post bundles include the screens and posts together — great value if you're starting from scratch.
Installation
5mm large screens are simple to install: drill pilot holes and screw directly through the panel into your fence or wall. Most customers complete a run of six screens in under two hours. 16mm screens slot into our aluminium post channels — posts can be concreted into the ground or attached to hard surfaces using bolt-down base plates.
